Abstract

This wooden "grid" is a mathematically sensative composition adherent to the proportions of the 'Golden Mean' and directly references the work of Louise Nevelson. There is a thematic reference to Icarus who attempts to rise from the ashes of the modernists?my forefathers?yet is tethered to this pervasive movement. It represents a dichonomty of classical versus modern concepts of beauty. |

A very whimsical piece with an explicit sexual theme. Addresses the 'ownership' of perception. The viewer will identify the objects as clothespins, yet they seem to be engaged in verious acts of mutual pleasure. Are the objects having sex, or does the viewer force them mentally with his perception? For a closer look, see Snap (detail) Station No. 1. |

This work is an exploration of the long-standing existential question surrounding our physical presence. Stepping alone into the mirror room, the single viewer disappears for a moment, becomming non-exist in this world. For a moment, the viewer can experience this world with and without her. (Hint: There is no mirror)
